SUB COMMANDER

Pagi ini bikin Sub Commander, tapi nggak pake fresh baguette / roti yang panjang, seperti biasanya persediaan yang ada burger buns, ya pakai ini aja, dan untuk melelehkan mozzarella cukup masukkan toaster oven sebentar sebelum disajikan.

INGREDIENTS :
4 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 medium red onion, cut into ¼ inch diced
2 red bell peppers, cut into ½ inch diced
2 green bell peppers, cut into ½ ich diced
1 tsp red chilli flakes
½ tsp dried thyme
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 lb fresh Italian beef sausages
1 fresh baguatte
½ cup freshly grated parmigiano reggiano
½ pound grated mozzarella
water

INSTRUCTIONS :
Pour your extra virgin olive oil into 10-12 inch sauté pan, add onion, peppers, chilli flakes and thyme over medium heat. Stirring regulary, cook everything heat until soft. Add the tomato paste and a little water and bring the mixture to a boil, then toss in the sausages and dial it down to a simmer.
Leave them to cook through about 10 minutes on each side, flipping as necessary. An hour before you’re ready to eat, preheat oven to 350 degrees and cut your baguette into three inch pieces (leave one side connected to hold the sauce). Now put one sausage and 2 tbsp of the pepper mixture into each pocket and sprinkle with 1 tbsp Parmigiano and 2 tbsp mozzarella, wrapping each sandwich loosely in foil. Place the assembled subs in the oven for 40 minutes and try to resist sticking your head in there before kickoff.
